Contextual Behavioral Science Supervision
As a CBS Supervisor, I provide supervision for psychologists and therapists.
My supervision is grounded in functional contextualism and treats supervision as a collaborative space for examining clinical behaviour rather than as an expert verdict on whether an intervention was ‘correct’.
The central question is often not:
“Which technique should I use?”
but:
“What is happening here, and what function is our behaviour serving in this context?”
Supervision in practice
We may work with case formulation, recordings, therapeutic interactions, functional analysis and the therapist's own responses.
01“What happens to the therapist in the presence of this particular client?”
02“What function might this intervention be serving here?”
These questions can be as clinically important as deciding what to do next.
